Egg Drop!

To begin inquiring into our new scientific process unit of inquiry, students created a contraption that would protect an egg during and after a 2 story drop. 

After they completed the drop, we inquired into how we could improve the process we went through in designing contraptions by thinking more like a scientist. In addition, we reflected upon what was successful and where improvements could be made to our designs. 

It was a fun, exciting and interesting task to kick off our unit! 

Grade 1 Buddies!

The Daredevils and Blazing Marshmallows enjoyed their time together on Friday! The Blazing Marshmallows came up with a balanced schedule for us to follow...

Each Marshmallow chose two books to read to his or her buddy. From there, they were able to transition into choice time. The last activity (and the favorite) was playing outside!

What do we know about GEO?

As the Daredevils embark on our new unit for Mathematics, we took some time today to reflect on what we know about Geo(metry).

All things Filipino

Today we celebrated all things Filipino by taking time to appreciate Filipino games, food, stories, people, music and arts.

Many of us practiced being risk takers when we encountered these new experiences. Some of us braved the Cheese-flavoured ice-cream!

 Over the years, many of us have left our footprints across the globe.

 Today we took a moment to revisit what it means to identify with a culture.

Filipiniana has been a way for us to say thank you to our host country that has gratuitously invited us to work, learn and live here.

The Daredevils shared their 10,000 project with Mrs. Riviello's class. It was a great session for both classes to share their mathematical understandings and provide feedback to their peers.
