Research Detectives

As researchers we have been learning the skill of evaluating information we consume.

We looked into website domains and inquired into which domains were reliable and which were questionable...

  • .com
  • .mil
  • .net
  • .org
  • .edu

We debated about the credibility of Wikipedia, and used RADCAB to evaluate it's reliability.

Relevancy
Appropriateness
Detail
Currency
Authority
Bias

Here are some of the questions we asked:

  • Is the information we find relevant to our research question?
  • What is useful information?
  • How do we know the piece of information is relevant?
  • How do we find safe and helpful websites?
  • How can we find trustworthy resources?
  • Are the details clear?
  • Can you find the same answer somewhere else?
  • Is the language used appropriate for our age?
  • How do we determine the important parts of our information?
  • Who holds this information?
